The department store in Colehill has undergone its biggest refit in decades to bring in the latest fashion ranges for all the family from one of the country’s top High Street retailers.

A vast area of some 6,000 sq.ft. on the ground floor is now dedicated to an impressive choice of exclusively designed M&Co clothing for different age groups and sizes.

It is the stylish label’s largest UK concession to date and signals a huge vote of confidence in the Tamworth Co-op Department Store and its ethos of delivering quality at the best possible price.

Ron Constable, General Manager Non-Food, said: “The new arrival marks an exciting new era for the store.”

“They join our fabulous Wood’s gifts department and Rectella Textile Outlet which have been relocated on our first floor. This floor also houses our ever popular Fashion and Footwear Outlet. When combined with our huge Furniture and Beds Showroom on the top floor, it really is the destination shopping experience for Tamworth.”

“Under the same roof we also have a restaurant, an on-site travel centre, opticians, mobility aids and bereavement advice centre. We’re now celebrating our 130th year and we’re doing it in style.”

  • The Tamworth store will host a free ‘Talking Wardrobe’ event at midday on November 24 to give shoppers ideas for party wear in the run-up to Christmas. A member of staff will demonstrate how the same item of clothing from the M&Co collection can be adapted to suit different occasions, making it even more value for money.

Manager Gigi Dean says: “It’s a fun experience. We show people how many outfits can be built up from one piece of clothing so they have something they can wear from morning to night.”
