Training & Implementation Co-ordinator (30 hours per week)
This newly created role presents a great opportunity for the successful candidate to play a key role in ensuring the highest standard of service delivery as part of our funeral team. The role is based at our Tamworth funeral home. Reporting to the General Manager the main purpose of this role is to create and implement training programmes for new and existing colleagues to ensure compliance with regulations and best practice across the funeral service including customer care, as well maintaining accurate and up to date training records for all funeral colleagues. Key Responsibilities will include: • To ensure training for all new starters is completed within the appropriate timeframes. • Develop training for new products and services aimed at developing product knowledge and confidence in colleagues. • Develop and deliver the roll out of training to all affected colleagues in relation to new policies, procedures and any updates to existing policies and procedures. • Facilitate workshops, seminars, and hands-on training sessions to ensure staff are well-versed in their roles and responsibilities. • Create evaluation tools and implement to assess the effectiveness of training programmes through feedback and performance evaluation; making adjustments as necessary. • Keep abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure training content is current and relevant. • Ensure all training records are kept up to date and systems are in place to ensure refreshers are completed as required. • Support new and existing colleagues using digital learning platforms. This newly created role presents a great opportunity for the successful candidate to play a key role in ensuring the highest standard of service delivery as part of our funeral team. The role is based at our Tamworth funeral home.
Reporting to the General Manager the main purpose of this role is to care for the deceased, this will be of the greatest importance when dealing with the receipt and transfer of deceased; preparing the deceased in compliance with our policies and regulator standards. This role is an integral part of the funeral operations team where particular attention must be paid to mortuary hygiene and health and safety.
Key Responsibilities will include:
• Be the first point of contact for deceased being received into our care, liaising closely with the Operations Manager to ensure
the most efficient transfer
• Care for the deceased according to Company guidelines ensuring that deceased are always treated with full dignity and care
• To escalate any concerns regarding non compliance / review of procedures required to management.
• Complete full condition checks on deceased following Company guidelines on timeframes
• Liaising with the freelance embalmer to schedule visits
• Assist embalmers with mortuary duties including first offices, washing and dressing deceased and following client instructions
• Update and maintain deceased information on our Funeral Management System, eFD
• Liaising with families of the deceased
• Liaise with, develop and maintain close professional relationships with key stakeholders
• To work as part of a team playing a key role within the funeral operations team
• Carrying out removals as and when required
The successful candidate will meet the following essential criteria:
• Knowledge of mortuary practices with previous experience of working in a mortuary
• Computer literate, able to input data accurately
• Excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with bereaved relatives and discussing sensitive matters with compassion
• Able to work under pressure with a calm approach
• Excellent attention to detail
• A desire to maintain and improve funeral standards
• A professional approach throughout all duties with a strong understanding of the requirement for confidentiality.
• A willingness to carry out removals as and when the business requires
• A willingness to undertake training relevant to the role as required
Previous experience of working in a dedicated mortuary role is desirable.
Hourly rate of pay: £13.50
